First Camping Trip of 2019

If you know me, you know I suffer from OCD - Obsessive Camping Disorder. Each summer we like to try at least one new campsite and this year's did not disappoint! Since booking camping spots in Colorado has become a contact sport, I won't disclose the exact location of our trip. Just know it was north of Denver near the Red Feather lakes. It's as my husband often says, "I don't usually share my favorite camping spots, but when I do I'm lying"

Anyway, we had a few lovely days camping, hiking, canoeing, loads of fishing (by the way it's called fishing and not catching for a reason!), campsite wiffle ball with neighbor campers, some biking, lots of laughing, relaxing and wildlife viewing!

Pax and I have been trying for years to see beaver in the wild and we finally got to see them in spades this trip!!! There was moose and bear and even mountain lion in the area, but we didn't spot any of them, just their scat. We saw an amazing osprey dive into the water for his dinner as well as some bald eagle flying over head. There were geese, hummingbirds, crawdads, deer, Hebert squirrel, ground squirrel, chipmunks and we even saw a pine marten!!!

I'm super excited that Pax and I are having a mom and son campout in the same spot this coming weekend!!! Can! Not! Wait!!!
