It seems as though Sunday is slowly turning into Impromptu Adventure Day. We were all enjoying the backyard (Pax was playing, mommy & daddy were cleaning and fixing and general putzing around), when all of a sudden we were engrossed in the idea of a trip to Dinosaur Ridge. After a whirlwind of clothes changing and backpack filling we were in the car and headed ridge ward.
As we arrived, so did the wind. At a trillion MPH, we decided to trek the museum before heading on the hike. We were surrounded by bones and howling winds. We played, we explored, we shopped, we hiked as far as the parking lot. It may have been a short escapade, but fun was certainly had.

Spring Break rocks!
Here we are again, spending yet another amazing few hours with our good pals. This morning's agenda was filled with a pajama brunch at the lovely Ms K's warm, wonderful home. The food was ridiculously tasty (as was the Bloody Mary) but the company topped it all. So grateful for these incredible folks. My only regret is that I made a communication error with one of our other dear sweet pals. Wish she could have joined us. She is always so lovely to have around - as are her two beautiful kidlets. I could get used to these kind o' days!

Mountains, sunshine & playfellows
What an incredible way to spend the day! In the mountains with good, good friends. It simply does not get better than that.
This morning we took a little Nature Nuts class at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center. It's a free program open to preschoolers a few times a month. It's awesome and some of our mostest favoritest pals joined us in the adventure.
After the great learnin' session, we all headed out in the sunshine to picnic and play. The highlights were deer so close we could almost touch them followed by a massive dried deer poop hunt, running down the hill super fast and then walking back up the hill super slow, some solid belly laughs and two cars full of tuckered kidlets for the drive home. There were songs shared, rocks climbed, and sunshine soaked. Overall, one spectacular handful of hours. It was the kind of day I will look back on and want to offer a million dollars to return to. These are friends. The true kind.

Oh Spring...
It was a warm, sunny, family day. Got some stuff done around the house, literally. As in our yard and the outside areas. All day my dear husband asked to take a nature walk. Our little reluctant one kept saying he wanted to have "a home day", but as the sun began to lower in the sky, we headed out. We went basically around the corner to Lowell Ponds. Not the most scenic place, but it was close and wild enough for a short adventure. Spring is desperately trying to... well... spring. Little bits of green popped out of the thick grey and brownness of everything. Life was awakening and so were our hopes of a great season to come.
A "sea monster" was spotted in the river
